Minor Miracles

I was starting to stress out a bit about daycare options. I called over 20 daycare providers... everyone in the 55109 & 55119 zip codes! Very few of the people that actually answered their phones had openings for an infant this fall. And I left numerous messages for people who never returned my call. I was becoming quite discouraged, but not panicked... yet.

The first person that I interviewed just felt right. Their home is cute & I really felt like I connected with the lady. Her whole basement is set up for daycare & her backyard has got a huge playground. It felt like home.

I thank God for this minor (major?) miracle!! What a blessing that the first person I met with will work out. I even met with another lady last night just to compare. And I left her house knowing with confidence that the decision we made is good for us for now.

Ok... my baby can come now :)

So as not to have every post about me & the baby I'm going to try to write about other things too. I'm also going to try to write more often. :) A good goal for the next month.

My favorite reality TV show is back.... So You Think You Can Dance!!
I love watching people dance! Last year I was addicted to the show. Addicted so much that Steve bought us tickets to see it when they were at the Target Center this past fall. But after watching a bit of last week, I realize that I'm not crazy about the audition shows. You have these horrible dancers that they purposely spotlight just to make fun of. Either they are auditioning just for attention (which is kind of lame) or they really think they can dance (which is really sad watching them get laughed at by the judges). poor people. I think I might just wait & watch once they've picked their top 20.

a HUGE, MEGA thank you!

I'm so very grateful to everyone that helped throw a baby shower for me & for all those who literally showered us with gifts. It is a HUGE blessing to not have to buy everything for the baby ourselves. It makes me realized how blessed we are to have such dear friends, family & co- workers.

we are pretty much set. the nursery is ready to go.
now we're just waiting the arrival of our little guy!

My Ever-growing Belly

We are expecting a baby soon! Our official due date is June 14th. We are very excited! I've wanted to be a mom ever since I was a little girl.

I'm at 37 weeks now which means they say I can go at any time. I'm just starting to "feel" big. My fingers & ankles are retaining water & I get out of breath super easily. People tell me when the baby drops I'll be able to breathe better. My WHOLE torso is baby so I'm not sure where it's going to drop to?! All in all I can't complain though because it's been a good pregnancy. Working at a children's specialty clinic, I see & hear a lot of what goes wrong. Each week that passes I'm very relieved that the baby has stayed in yet another week. The best thing about being pregnant has been feeling the baby kick!

God has been so good to us! I keep hoping & praying that the delivery goes smoothly. Of course I'm a bit nervous, but I think that's pretty normal for all first time moms.

This is a picture of my husband Steve & I.
It was taken while we were visiting a dear friend in Atikokan, Ontario, Canada.

I'm blessed each day to be married to such a great guy! Marriage is a great adventure.

Blogs... Our new form of communication

So I'm told that blogging is the thing to do now. Several of my friends have great blogs & often times I find myself lingering over their posts. It's a great way to stay updated on the events & thoughts of dear friends. It's also neat to see pictures of their children grow.

I'm not sure what this blog will turn into. I feel so blessed each day & there are so many great events that become another lovely memory. Maybe I'll be able to share a little joy with someone along the way. In God alone the glory!
